About Us

Crafting Beauty, Serving the World

At Missions Pottery and More, nestled in the heart of Lexington, North Carolina, we believe in the transformative power of art and the importance of giving back. Established in 2010 by Tommy Davis, our local pottery shop is more than just a store; it’s a community where creativity meets compassion, where every piece crafted carries a deeper message and supports a greater cause.

Our Philosophy

“Each piece of pottery we create holds a story, an invitation to find joy in the mundane and meaning in the everyday. But beyond that, there’s a deeper purpose – to fill the voids, not just in our homes, but in our hearts, with something lasting and true. This is our mission at Missions Pottery and More. With every piece sold, we’re not just sharing art; we’re spreading hope, love, and the message of Christ, aiming to make a difference both locally and globally.”

About Us

Celebrating Art, Faith, and Community

At Missions Pottery, we believe in the power of art to inspire, uplift, and connect communities. Our journey began with a simple passion for pottery, but it quickly evolved into something more profound – a mission to spread love and support Christian missions around the world. With each meticulously crafted piece, we aim to not only beautify homes but also touch hearts and souls.

Vision

Inspiring creativity, faith, and compassion in our community and beyond.

Mission

Crafting purposeful pottery and supporting Christian missions globally.

The Testimony Behind Missions Pottery

“Missions Pottery began as a hobby and a stress reliever. Little did I know that God had plans that I didn’t have. Because of the loss of friends and loved ones, I was looking for a way to relax and find a hobby. I had always wanted to try pottery, so I took a class and discovered just how much I enjoyed it.

I did not expect what was coming next to start such an amazing chapter of my life. Through the loss of a job, I had much more free time and decided to use my time to serve the Lord. Through sermons at church and a lot of prayer, we went full time with the pottery shop and gallery whose profits would go to help support missions and the spread of the Gospel. To help spread that message through my own pottery, I include a hole in each one of my pieces. The hole represents the void is each one of our hearts that can only be filled by Jesus Christ.

God Bless.”

Founders & Owners

Tommy Davis didn’t just find pottery; it found him. What started as a hobby and a means to de-stress soon evolved into a passionate vocation. With a heart as big as his talent, Tommy envisioned a place where art could serve a higher purpose. With the help of his wife, Joyce, Missions Pottery and More became the realization of that vision, blending Tommy’s love for pottery with their commitment to faith and philanthropy. A master of clay, Tommy specializes in creating pieces that are not only visually appealing but also imbued with meaning and purpose, such as the distinctive small hole in each piece, symbolizing our need for Christ. Through art and leadership, Tommy and Joyce continue to inspire and make a difference in the community and beyond.
